What options are available when ordering our Home Plans?

Additional Sets: Identical copies of your Home Plan are typically ordered to provide your various contractors, banks or local building department with their own individual set of plans to work from or file. Keep everyone on the same page.

Materials List: Often, Home Plan Designers will provide a detailed list of all materials required to erect the home. Having your Home Plan Materials List will allow you to shop lumbar yards for the best materials price, estimate your building costs or purchase materials yourself. Eliminate wasted materials, save THOUSANDS, and stay on budget. This is an extremely cost-efficient method when building.

Reproducible Set: A complete set of Home Plans on an erasable paper called Mylar, Sepia, or Vellum. This paper will allow you to make any structural changes to your home design. A Reproducible Set includes a copyright release allowing you to legally make copies of this previously copyrighted Home Plan. Once changes have been made, you can reproduce all of the additional copies you need for building your new design. It does not, however, give you the license to build more than one home from the plan without a Multi-Use Construction License.

CAD File: Complete set of Home Plans in an electronic file format. This software format is the most versatile method for making structural changes to your Home Plans. A CAD Set includes a copyright release allowing you to legally make changes and copies of the copyrighted Home Plan. It does not, however, give you the license to build more than one home from the plan without a Multi-Use Construction License. Not all home designs offer this option, so check to make sure it is available for your Home Plan.

Study Set: A Study Set of home plans includes all four exterior views plus all appropriate floor plans. A Study Set is intended to help you decide if the home plan you have chosen will meet your needs and fit into your budget. Most study sets do not include the roof specs, the foundation plan, or building section details.


Is the Garage space included in the total square footage of a Home?
No. Garage space, decks, patios, and bonus rooms are not included in total sq. ft. Total sq. ft. is defined as the space within the 'heated walls' of the room - the actual livable space.


Can I purchase your Home Plans and have them modified by another Architect?
Yes ! You can purchase our Home Plans, Reproducible Sets or CAD Sets of Home Plans which can then be modified by an Architect, Engineer, or Residental Designer of your choice.


What's the difference between a Right-Reading Reverse and a Mirror Image?
A Mirror Image displays your Home Plan as if it were being read backwards. This alternate view allows you to plan your Home if it were to be built in a reverse layout. A Right-Reading Reverse plan is typically ordered when the reversed layout is desired for building. The Right-Reading Reverse Set provides all the 'reversed layout' plan specification details to be read left to right.

 
Can I make extra sets or copies of Home Plans @ Kinko's?
No !! ...It's illegal. All home plans sold through Home Plan Group.com are protected by copyrights held by the individual home plan designers. For more information, read our copyright notice.


How long will it take to receive my Home Plan Order?
At the Home Plan Group, we strive to process, ship and confirm all Home Plan Orders within 48 hours after receiving the Home Plan Order. The delivery time will also depend on the Shipping Method you choose when ordering your Home Plan.


Are your home plans "stamped" or "sealed" upon purchase?
Most home plan orders are not sold with an architectural stamp or engineering seal. This service is offered at an additional price to the customer. For more information, call toll free: 1-877-443-4111.


What is your Refund / Exchange Policy?
Home Plan Designs are refundable within 5 working business days of purchase under the following conditions:
Home Plans are in their sealed, original packaging and have not been opened.  Customer will pay a 10% re-stocking fee plus all shipping charges. Reproducible Plans, CAD File and PDF Files are not refundable under any circumstances due to copyrighted issues.

Home Plans oredered from The Home Plan Group may be exchanged within 10 days of purchase under the following conditions:
Upon our approval, customer may exchange their home design for a home plan of equal to the original order. Customer will pay a 10% re-stocking fee from the original plan order, plus any difference in cost if exchanging for a higher priced plan. Customer will also be responsible for all shipping charges.
